Normally a 5-10kW solar system is sufficient for home use, depending on the actual amount of power a household uses.
Q3. How long do solar panels last?
Solar panels are designed to last for decades. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), solar panels last between 20 and 30 years, with some well-made panels lasting up to 40 years.
Q4. What is the lifespan of a solar inverter?
A typical hybrid inverter will last about 10 to 15 years. They generally have standard warranties for 5 years, which can be extended to 10-15 years.
Q5. Is 10 kW enough to run a house?
A 10kW solar system can generate 1500 kWh/month under 5 PSH (peak sunshine hours). Whether it is enough depends on your actual energy consumption.
Q6. Can I use a car battery instead of a solar battery?
You can, but car batteries are NOT designed for deep discharge. They will not last long in solar applications because they are only designed to provide high current for short intervals (to start a car).
